This online course is per Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies 509-03-.02

To become an "Armed Security Guard" you are required to take “40 Hours” (24 hours Unarmed and 15 hours Armed) of Security Guard Training as per Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies 509-03-.02. This Blended Training is designed to minimize classroom time and is self-paced.

There are 3 phases to this training.

Phase 1 - Online Video's and Quizzes

Phase 2 - Is the Online Unarmed and Armed Test

Phase 3 - Is the Firearms Range Training and Qualifications

*Note - It is best to take the training on a computer vs a phone.

PHASE 1

Once the student registers online....

He or She will receive and email with a link to access the online video's and quizzes to complete phase 1 of the training.  You will create a personal password with the emailed link. Please remember to click the red "continue button" to move onto the next phase of training. This is very important!!!

Students are required to have a minimal passing score of 100 percent. Students can print out the certificate for each of the 10 modules to add to their training record.

PHASE 2

Student will take the online unarmed and armed "test".

PHASE 3

The Student will then contact our Director of Training to schedule their (8) hour classroom and firearms range training/qualifications.

Students will then earn their "15-hour Armed" and "24-hour Unarmed" certificates  upon successful completion of firearms training and qualifications.

Firearms Training Location:

Our 80-acre outdoor firearms training facility is located at 3161 State Hwy 11 Monroe, Georgia. Please dress for outdoor weather conditions.

Students will need the following gear:

• Pistol
• Holster (no inside the waist band, no cloth or Nylon holsters)
• 2 Magazines
• 5 Dummy Rounds or Snap Caps
• Ear (Amplified recommended) and Eye Protection
• Beverages and Lunch
• Tactical Flashlight (Thumb Operated)
• 150 Rounds of Ammunition

Georgia Weapons Carry License:

Georgia Weapons Carry License can be applied through your County Probate Court or local Sheriff’s Office. Your County Probate Court Judge or local Sheriff’s Office will conduct an extensive background check that will take approximately 2 to 6 weeks. Most Armed Security Guard Companies require their security guards to have a valid Georgia Weapons Carry License.

What the Student does next:

• Students
• Students are required to register with the Secretary of State (SOS) via "GOALS": https://sos.ga.gov/goals

• After completing the required online tests and firearms weapons range training, students will upload their documents to their GOALS profile:
• 24 hr unarmed certificate
• 15 hr armed certificate
•  Firearms Qualification Form
• Basic Training Form
• Weapons Permit Training Information

• The SOS will conduct an extensive background check and issue your Blue Card to the company that hired you.
• 

NOTE: Armed Security Guards are required to qualify "annually"  with the weapon they carry on duty  by a Georgia Board Certified firearms Instructor.

After you re-qualify, the Student is responsible for uploading their annual firearms qualifications form with make, model, caliber, score, and signature of instructor to your GOALS profile.
