Class Cancellation Policy

About Our Courses:

Team GAFASTA is the leader in armed security guards and armed Private Investigator firearms training. We go above and beyond Georgia State requirements in firearms training and qualifications. Students will learn tactical shooting techniques including but not limited to: Shooting and moving, use of cover, malfunction and stoppage drills, tactical and combat reloading, room clearing, close quarters combat, failure drills, multiple threats, transverse shooting and drawing drills. We believe this training will prepare you for the unknown out on the streets.

Our instructors are U.S. Military, Law Enforcement (P.O.S.T Certified Firearms Instructors), NRA and Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies Certified Firearms Instructors.

What the Student does next:

• Students are required to register with the Secretary of State (SOS) via "GOALS": https://sos.ga.gov/goals
• After completing the required online tests and firearms weapons range training, students will upload their documents to their GOALS profile:
• 24 hr Unarmed Certificate
• 15 hr Armed Certificate
• Firearms Qualfication Form
• Basic Training Form
• Weapons Permit Training Information
• The SOS will conduct an extensive background check and issue your Blue Card to the company that hired you.

NOTE: Armed Security Guards are required to qualify "annually"  with the weapon they carry on duty  by a Georgia Board Certified firearms instructor.

After you re-qualify, the Student is responsible for uploading their annual firearms qualifications form with make, model, caliber, score, and signature of instructor to your GOALS profile.

43-38-16. Penalty

Unlicensed Practice - Any security license or private detective license MUST be issued and valid before you can legally perform security or PI duties.  There is no grace period or temporary period while awaiting license approval.

Unlicensed practice can be grounds for the Board to refuse to grant a license or registration, and if a licensed company is found to be aiding and abetting the unlicensed practice of an employee that can be grounds for disciplinary action against the company, up to and including suspension or revocation of the company license.

Any person who engages in the private detective business or private security business or offers, pretends, or hold himself out as eligible to engage in the private detective business or private security business and who is not legally licensed or registered under this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. Each day or fraction of a day that he practices in violation of this chapter shall constitue a separate offense.

Board Rule 509-4-.08 = Advertising and Promotional Materials

Advertising material distributed or published by a private detective agency or security agency must display the agency license number as issued by the Board. Advertising includes, but is not limited to, sebsites and social mecia pages for the agencies.

INSURANCE COVERAGE

According to O.C.G.A. 43-38-6(d)(1), in lieu of a $25,000 surety bond a licensee may submit a policy of liability insurance in an amount of not less than $1 million. The policy of liability insurance should reflect $1 million in coverage for each occurence, and the aggregate should reflect $1 million coverage or more.

(d)

 (1) In addition to the requirements enumerated in this Code section, each

applicant for a license under this chapter shall provide satisfactory evidence

to the board that the prospective licensee has posted or has made provision

for the posting of a bond. The required bond shall be executed in favor of the

state, in the amount of $25,000.00, with a surety company authorized to do

business in this state and conditioned to pay damages not to exceed the

amount of such bond to any person aggrieved by any act of the principal

named in such bond, which act is in violation of this chapter and would be

grounds for denial, suspension, or revocation of a license under Code Section

43-38-11. Immediately upon the granting of a license, such bond shall be

filed with the division director by the licensee and shall be approved by the

division director as to form and as to the solvency of the surety. The

prospective licensee may file the required bond with the division director

prior to the granting of a license for the division director’s approval as

provided in this Code section. In lieu of the required bond, a prospective

licensee may submit to the board evidence of a policy of liability insurance in

an amount of not less than $1 million insuring such prospective licensee

against personal liability for damages arising out of acts of the insured or his

employees. No licensee shall cancel or cause to be canceled a bond or

liability insurance policy issued pursuant to this Code section unless the

board is so informed in writing by certified mail or statutory overnight

delivery at least 30 days prior to the proposed cancellation. In lieu of the

required bond or liability insurance policy, the prospective licensee may

submit a net worth affidavit, prepared using standard accounting

procedures, which affidavit indicates that the prospective licensee has a net

worth of more than $50,000.00. The board, in its discretion, may accept a

financial affidavit in lieu of the bond or liability insurance policy required by

this subsection. The board, in its discretion, may require licensees under this

Code section to submit periodic financial updates to ensure continued

financial responsibility. If the surety or licensee fails to submit, within ten

days of the effective date of cancellation, a new bond or liability insurance

policy or a net worth statement as outlined in this subsection, the board shall

have the authority to revoke any license issued under this chapter.
